ABOUT US

The Lithuanian Festival Committee of Maryland is pleased to announce the

47th Annual Baltimore Lithuanian Festival

This year’s festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and 12th, 11am to 6pm. The historic Lithuanian Hall will be home to a variety of vendors who will feature traditional Lithuanian food and drink, folk arts and crafts, jewelry, and more.  Traditional music and dance performances will be featured throughout the festival and our very own museum and library will be open for exploration.

The festivities will continue Saturday Night from 6pm to midnight where we will continue the party in the lower level of the Hall with full bar access and music.  Come for the festival, stay for the party!

After a very long run where the Festival was held at the National Guard Armory in Catonsville until 2016, we returned to the Lithuanian Hall.  The changes in our world necessitated changes in the Armory – and we had outgrown the space.  After a search for an alternate venue, we recognized that despite some of the challenges of hosting an event in the city, the Lithuanian Hall remains the “home base” of Baltimore-Lithuanians. Events big and small are held there every week, and it can naturally adapt itself to the needs of the Festival. If you have not visited lately, there have been many changes to the Hall.

During the summer of 2016, in preparation for hosting the 15th North American Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival, the Lithuanian Hall made many major investments which included the critical installation of air conditioning in the main hall, renovation to the lower level bar area,  kitchen upgrades, and other upgrades to this historical facility.  We boast a lovely museum, a historic library, as well as outdoor space in our Lithuanian park on Hollins Street.
Will there be enough parking? Street parking is limited and, in order to maintain positive relationships with the community around the Hall, we highly discourage street parking.  Safe, secure parking is available at the nearby UMB Campus Biopark parking garage for a modest fee.  It is short walk to the Hall from the Biopark garage.
Another advantage of the city? Skip the drive and take the light rail to Camden Yards and make the 10 minute walk to the Hall.  You can also make a weekend of it!  For overnight accommodations, we recommend the Baltimore Marriot Inner Harbor at Camden Yards Hotel.  http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bwiih-baltimore-marriott-inner-harbor-at-camden-yards/
A 10 min walk from the Lithuanian Hall – the Marriot offers private vehicle parking ($) and is also along the Charm City Circulator (free shuttle) Orange route with a stop within a 3 minute walk to the Lithuanian Hall. http://www.charmcitycirculator.com/m/maps.

So, come to “Our House” – the Baltimore Lithuanian Hall for the 47th Annual Lithuanian Festival, and help us to continue to grow and improve our Festival as we continue our theme of "Bringing the Baltic to the Bay!"
